Waterfall Creek Walk starts from the left side of Roys Bay - which is the main beach on Lake Wanaka. The place was following the coastline down to Wanaka part of Damper Bay. Wanaka Station Park, on the left near Waterfall Creek Walk, is the proper place for a picnic. The route continues along the road in front of Edgewater Resort Hotel and Rippon Vineyard down to Waterfall Creek. Arrowtown

The Last Photo Of Slain Rapper M-Bone Of Cali Swag District

Montae Talbert, the rapper better known as M-Bone and member of the West Coast hip-hop group Cali Swag District, was killed in California in a drive-by shooting on Sunday evening, according to police.

Founded by former Death Row artist Big Wy and Dairold Potts, Cali Swag District was made up of M-Bone, Smoove, Jay Are and Yung, and the group earned national fame for the single “Teach Me How to Dougie.”

Cali Swag District released a statement to TMZ, saying their friend and fellow group member was “the victim of a random act of violence last night, Sunday May 15 in his hometown of Inglewood, CA.”

“As police are still investigating the shooting and untimely death, we ask that anyone with information contact the Inglewood Police Department.

“M-Bone was an inspiration to his family, friends and fans. He was a hardworking, passionate artist and dancer that will be deeply missed.”

According to TMZ, the rapper was next to his car outside of a local liquor store late Sunday when shots rang out. M-Bone was hit and taken to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Just a few weeks ago, FOX News caught up with the group for what now turns out to be one of M-Bone’s last ever interviews.

Here are excperts from that interview:

FOX News: You guys left your mark on dance floors across America last year with everyone wanting to learn how to do the “Dougie”… how did that come about?

Yung:  The Dougie is a dance that originated from Dougie Fresh himself, it came from a move he used to do… Fresh used to rub his head all the time when he was on stage, so Dallas, Texas took it in and turned it into a D-town Dougie – moving from side to side and rubbing the head!

FOX News: And now you have “The Kickback” – what else can we expect?

M-Bone:  Songs for the ladies!

FOX News: Your fame happened pretty fast, are you all still pinching yourselves?

Smoove: Yes it all happened so suddenly, so everything we do is like a learning process, and the respect level is through the roof. We get respected by people that we didn’t even talk to back in middle school or in high school. They’re like, ‘man, I remember when we were the best of friends!’ But it is cool they respect us now, life is good.

Yung: A lot of people look up to us, like in the airport last night some dude walked up and said could I give him some advice on how to make it. It’s incredible.

M-Bone: Yeah and it happens all time. 

FOX News: Music aside, what’s next?

Jay Are: I want a TV show, we need a TV show!

M-Bone: Commercials… oh, and we need that Nike contract! Haha.

Yung: Movies, going overseas. We expect a lot. A lot.

Anna Chapman The Beauty Russian Spy Girls, Femme Fatale

ANNA Chapman has embarked on a political career as the new pin-up girl of Vladimir Putin's youth movement. It hailed Ms Chapman, 28, as a patriotic role model for young Russians after her brief career as an undercover agent in the US ended in arrest by the FBI, along with nine other "sleeper" spies.
Her arrival on the political stage comes a year before elections to Russia's parliament, the Duma, are due to take place. Reportedly on Mr Putin's orders, United Russia added several attractive women to its candidate list at the last election, including the former Olympic gymnast Alina Kabaeva, who is alleged to be his mistress.
Many Young Guards leaders have gone on to make political careers in the Duma with United Russia. State television reported Ms Chapman's entry into its ranks on national news bulletins and broadcast part of her speech to activists at its congress in Moscow.

"I want us to learn to be positive. How much energy did we spend in order to become a great power?" she said, dressed in a figure-hugging red-and-black outfit. "We must transform the future, we must begin with ourselves. There would be less negativity in society if each of us woke up with a smile."
Ms Chapman has transformed herself since the summer spy scandal, when her Bond-girl looks earned her the name "Agent 36-24-36" in Russian tabloids. She and her handlers at Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service have astutely exploited her image as a modern Mata Hari to make spying for the Kremlin seem like a cool career option for a new generation of post-Soviet youth.
She has posed in lingerie for a men's magazine, sung patriotic songs with Mr Putin, below, and appeared at the launch of a rocket carrying a joint Russian-US crew to the International Space Station since her return to Moscow in a spy swap in July.
The former Russian spy joined the Young Guards, the youth wing of the ruling United Russia party, and was immediately made a member of its governing public council. The group is dubbed the "Putin Youth" by critics because of its fanatical devotion to the Prime Minister.
She was also hired as an "adviser on investment and innovation" by the little-known FondServiceBank in Moscow, whose initials match those of Russia's domestic spy agency, the Federal Security Service. Timur Prokopenko, who was elected one of the Young Guards' three new leaders at the congress, said that Ms Chapman was a "hero of our generation". He said: "She can play an active part in developing our youth because she represents an ideal for them to emulate."
She was, he added, already writing a book on the subject of innovation. He said that the invitation to Ms Chapman to join Young Guards had come at an innovation forum addressed by President Medvedev in Moscow last week.
Ms Chapman appeared less keen to talk about her new life as a Young Guard. She told her bodyguard to take her away from the congress after reporters asked her what role she would play.
The Young Guards group has its roots in the Soviet Komsomol youth movement. It was revived as a vehicle for mobilising "patriotic" youth on the streets to support Mr Putin and fight any threat of a pro-democracy revolution in Russia.
It came under suspicion after the Kommersant journalist Oleg Kashin was brutally attacked last month by two men with an iron bar. The group had posted photographs of him and other journalists critical of the Kremlin on its website with the words "Will Be Punished".
Mr Putin, who was a Soviet KGB agent in the former East Germany, has lavished praise on the nine spies since they returned to Russia. President Medvedev awarded them top state honours for service to Russia in October, despite FBI claims that the spies failed to obtain any secrets. Veteran KGB agents, by contrast, have strongly criticised the agents for a lack of professionalism.

The bizarre case of Russian Spy ring arrested by the US-FBI and already deportation  just keeps on getting stranger. In particular, one of the alleged spies, 28-year-old Anna Chapman, is getting a lot of attention because of her “vixen” looks and lingerie shots on Facebook. Now, her former husband in London says her father was a former KGB officer and that she left him to pursue her startup dreams in the United States.

Chapman networked her way into the New York City entrepreneurial scene. In fact, before New York Entrepreneur Week last April, she sat down for a video interview to talk about her apartment rental Website, NYCRentals.com. You can watch the video below, courtesy of And Now Media (it has appeared elsewhere on the Web). Chapman does not come across as a very sophisticated businesswoman, or spy for that matter. Initially, she comes across as something of a red-headed ditz flirting with the camera, or maybe she is just nervous, but as she begins to talk about her business she starts to sound a little more believable.

The Website is up and running, although it is barebones. And she was shopping around a business plan, really more of a two-page executive summary, which we have obtained exclusively (also embedded below). NYCRentals is an apartment search engine which brings together listings for a very limited number of apartments in some neighborhoods of New York City. The executive summary pitches it as a vertical search engine for apartment rentals which aggregates listings from different broker sites. It is not a particularly original idea.

The name of the company behind the site is PropertyFinder, which is described as an “affiliate of a holding company in Russia by Anna Chapman who holds the majority shares in that company as well.” It is obvious the document was written by someone without a full mastery of English. It lists “Graigslist” as a competitor and is filled with grammatical errors. One typical sentence reads:

    By specializing on narrow region it will allow for a system to gather not only information about letting but also create rich with information database with buildings, city infrastructure, other useful and relevant for choosing real estate to live area specifics.

Maybe NYCRentals was just a front to give Chapman an excuse to meet high-profile targets. Or maybe she really thought she could crack the New York City rental market. Update: It appears that the domain NYCRentals.com was only recently purchased on June 22 for $25,350.


It is still not clear what Chapman’s role in the alleged spy ring was or why she sought publicity. One theory is that these so-called spies were really trying to infiltrate different parts of American society to network and perhaps find valuable contacts who could provide real intelligence to Russia. But all evidence so far is that these spies who could not shoot straight. One contact from New York Entrepreneur Week who met with Chapman on several occasions, Aron Shoenfeld (no relation to me), describes her as a “very aggressive networker.” But she seemed no more aggressive than any ambitious entrepreneur. Maybe entrepreneurs would make good spies.

Or maybe she just wasn’t a very good spy.

1. Heavy foundation and powders: "The inch-thick powder is a huge turn-off," says Maxim senior editor Nick Leftley. "No guy wants to kiss a girl on the cheek and then find he¹s wearing foundation himself." A flaking face is one thing, but when your cheek becomes a palette of skin-tone colors, men pay attention...and not the good attention. "I'm always amazed to see women with two-tone faces, two apparently different shades of skin on the face, as if they apply makeup in the dark," says James Oliver Cury, the online editorial director at Maxim. "I'd rather see one greasy face than some sort of melanin imbalance. The nose should match the cheeks."

2. "Bumps": “I never liked, or knew of any other guy who liked, the Gwen Stefani "bumpit" look," says Henry Belanger, an editor at The Good Men Project. "Be wary of anything that makes your head look unnaturally large."

3. Neon lipstick: Most of the fashion world agreed that electric pouts were a beauty "do" this season. Some men, however, beg to differ. "Orange lips are definitely a departure from what we're used to and not necessarily something a lot of guys I know really respond to just quite yet,” say fashion blogger John Januzzi of Lucky and the fashion website, Textbook.

4. Too-thin brows:"My pet peeve is overly plucked eyebrows," says David Swanson, Maxim's Features Editor."I mean, really? It's basically an advertisement that naturally you're hairier than Robin Williams. If it looks natural, we'd never have to wonder."

5. Bold eye-shadow: "I don't understand the revival of bright blue eyeshadow," proposes Maxim's Cury. "Is it retro? Is it purposefully over-the-top? To my eyes, it just looks tacky no matter how you wear it." Lucky's Januzzi isn't as bothered by color as he is by application. "Smoky eyes--when done right are great--very sexy and attractive but when done wrong they look a total mess," he says. "Seek professional guidance before trying at home."

6. Rosy cheeks: “As far as make-up goes, I think rouge is for old ladies,” adds Good Men Project's Belanger. "I think guys generally prefer the kind of make-up you don't notice is there, and since there's a lot that guys don't notice I think women have a lot of leeway."

Midway through "Becoming Chaz," the raw and revelatory documentary about Chaz (nee Chastity) Bono's physical transition from female to male, Chaz visits his Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor and her partner to show them the results of his recent chest surgery. "Becoming Chaz," which premieres Tuesday night on OWN, is undoubtedly one of the most thought-provoking films you will see on any screen this year, a frankly chronicled tale of Chaz's life as a transgender man that opens a more than occasionally mind-blowing conversation about the essentials of gender, and subsequently, sexuality.

Often likened to gay identity before the Stonewall riots, or women's lives pre-"The Feminine Mystique," the transgender experience is actually one of the few human conditions almost completely without cultural, literary or artistic landmarks. Over the centuries, poets and playwrights have expressed, albeit in veiled terms, the love that dared not speak its name just as women have had their say, and champions. But the idea that a person could be born into a body at odds with his or her sense of gender has only recently entered the public conversation, through films like "Boys Don't Cry" and talk shows like Oprah Winfrey's.

Transgenderism remains so foreign a concept to those who have not experienced it that its explanation falls totally to those who have. In Chaz Bono, the transgender community found its first celebrity spokesperson since Renée Richards. Not only is Chaz a man (the transgender male community, as the film says, is much less public than the female) but he was famous long before he identified as transgender.

It is a heavy burden, and one with which Chaz, a witty and articulate but non-attention-seeking individual, is not terribly comfortable; fame caused almost as much conflict in his life as his ill-fitting body did. But having committed to becoming a spokesperson for this marginalized community, Chaz tells his story with a graphic and stunning simplicity. The action begins as he is preparing to have his breasts removed, and documents his recovery from the surgery, his subsequent legal transition from female to male and the reactions of his longtime girlfriend Jennifer Elia as well as his friends and family.

Elia, like her partner, is breathtakingly honest, often hilariously so, whether popping a zit on Chaz's back at one point, or shaking her head over his emerging "swagger." Her struggle with sobriety is an ongoing tension in the relationship (Chaz is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict), as is the fact that she is a lesbian. Early on, when Chaz confides that the two never acted like a lesbian couple, Elia retorts, "What does a lesbian couple act like?" But Chaz's transition clearly has an impact on their relationship. Elia fell in love with a woman and Chaz is now a man, which prompts all manner of questions about the nature of enduring love.

And then there's the elephant in the room. Cher, like her son, is not one for mincing words. Other family members — Chaz's aunt and grandmother, stepmother Mary Bono and her children — offer unconditional, unquestioning support, but Cher, who publicly voiced her unhappiness when her then-daughter Chastity came out, is clearly ambivalent. Though the pain and distance Cher's reluctance inflicts on Chaz is palpable, neither filmmakers Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato nor Chaz portray her as a monster. Instead, she is seen as expressing the feelings of confusion and loss any mother might have. So when, while promoting her film "Burlesque," Cher actually uses the pronoun "he" and announces that she thinks Chaz is very brave, it is a moment of hope, if not triumph.

Miraculously, "Becoming Chaz" doesn't go much for triumph, at least not in the theatrical sense. Instead, the film presents life as ongoing and complicated, as it actually is, for the transgendered and non-transgendered alike.
